My Story

I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia in 2008 when I woke up with the left side of my face drooped and thought I had a stroke. Within a few hours the pain had started and I went to the ER. After several visits to one neuralogist over a year, I was referred to another neuralogist who has been able to help me, and confirmed I had TN with Hemifacial Spasms. I have had 2 Microvascular Decompression surgical procedures to help with relief of the pain and take 1500 mg. daily of Neurontin. With having TN/HFS, I still have good days and bay days and in 2012 I was diagnosed with  Fibromyalgia to add my TN/HFS pain.

As I have been working on my psychology degree, I have been able to regain some of the life that TN has taken away from me. Today I had the worst trigger in a couple of weeks brought on by a guy in my class. Do you think he felt manly standing over me yelling at me and trying to throw me under the bus with our group project when he has been lazy. All he did was upset me and set my face off into the next world. A two hour nap after class helped to ease the pain but still lingering and it will for a few days. Gotta love TN!
